Forth continued their promising pre-season with a victory against First Division Vale of Clyde at Kingshill Park tonight. A slide rule pass from Kris Jarvie put in Mark McKay and he had no problem in dispatching the ball past the keeper. The same player should have made it two near the end but took an extra touch and the keeper saved.
The Tin Pail were not without their chances especially two first half headers and both teams took the opportunity to make several substitutions as the game wore on.
The midges (and the rain) were much in evidence and this resulted in both benches vacating the dugouts and setting up beside the pavillion in an attempt to avoid the worst of them !
